City of Boca Raton's Sunset Music Series in Downtown Boca at Mizner Park Amphitheater FREE ADMISSION Friday | August 2 | 8:16pm Carlos Oliva Latin Salsa / Samba
Due to the increased chances of rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal, the City of Boca Raton has rescheduled this Saturday’s Summer Sunset Music Series concert featuring Carlos Oliva for Friday, August 2 at 8:16 p.m. (sunset) at Downtown Boca’s MPA at 590 Plaza Real. The concert is FREE.
A native of Cuba, Oliva and his band have grown in notoriety over the years with their new, inter-cultural sound; a fusion of Cuban music, salsa, afro beats, samba, jazz and rock. This melting pot of rhythmic seasonings soon became known as “The Miami Sound,”…which for the first time in history, gave Miami a claim to fame for its Latin Music.
Attendees can get an “After Party” wristband at the concert for a FREE Bud Light or Magners on draft at the Dubliner.
The musical variety of the City of Boca Raton’s Summer Sunset Music Series includes everything from rock and reggae to salsa and symphony. The Saturday concerts are scheduled to begin just as the sun goes down, giving attendees time to enjoy dinner in Downtown Boca before heading to the Amphitheater. Blankets and chairs are welcome, but for convenience, chairs will also be available to rent for $5.00.
Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, car pool and use free parking at City Hall and the Boca Raton Library. Preferred parking is available adjacent to the amphitheater for $10.00. Limited parking is also available in Mizner Park. Food and beverages will be available to purchase inside the venue. Outside alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
