SAINT JOSEPH’S EPISCOPAL SCHOOL NOW OFFERS FREE VOLUNTARY PRE-KINDERGARTEN Boynton Beach, FL – April 24, 2019 -- ?Saint Joseph’s Episcopal School (www.sjsonline.org) is opening its academic doors even wider with the introduction of its new Voluntary Prekindergarten, or VPK, program. The new, free program began taking students on April 10, 2019, and will continue to welcome new registrants for the summer term, which begins June 10 and runs through August 9. ?? (Closed the week of July 1, 2019.)???? To learn more about VPK at Saint Joseph’s Episcopal School, contact Early Childhood Academy Director Ellen Mero at 561-278-7735 or EMero@sjsonline.org. Saint Joseph’s VPK students will be taught by Pat Paris, who has a Master’s degree in Education, more than 20 years in the field of child education, and previous managerial experience operating her own preschool. VPK gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language and social skills. By developing the skills children need to become strong readers and students at an early age, children are more likely to be successful in school. VPK classrooms offer high-quality programs that include high literacy standards, developmentally appropriate curricula, manageable class sizes, and qualified teachers. VPK is for 4- and 5-year-olds who reside in Florida. Participating children must be 5 years of age on or before September 1. The summer program consists of 300 instructional hours. “This will be a truly academic program; however, we will incorporate some fun programs especially for the summer,” Mero said. “There is zero cost to parents who qualify for the VPK vouchers. I encourage interested families to call me to begin the application process.” Saint Joseph’s, founded in 1958, is an FCIS and FKC accredited, nationally renowned, academic and arts preparatory school serving children ages one through three at its Early Childhood Academy, and Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Eight on its Main Campus. Rigorous academics, the Academy of the Arts, spiritual studies, and athletics are the hallmark of the school’s curriculum.
