Dedication of World War II Hero sculpture at Palm Beach International Airport The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners and the Kiwanis Club of Westside West Palm Beach invites our supporters and the public, Tuesday, October 14th at 12pm to a ceremony to inaugurate Captain McCampbell’s sculptured bust. The ceremony will take place at the permanent site of the sculpture at Palm Beach International Airport on the east end of the third floor. WHAT: The Kiwanis Club of Westside West Palm Beach has donated the bust for permanent display at Palm Beach International Airport. Attendees will be able to meet the artist, veteran Palm Beach Artist Muriel Kaplan and Captain McCampbell’s family will also share remembrances. WHO: Captain McCampbell was the recipient of numerous military awards including the Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military honor. Artist Muriel Kaplan’s work has spanned more than 70 years with portraits and sculptures that depict a variety of human qualities. WHEN: Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. WHERE: Palm Beach International Airport – East End of the Third Floor. - Event is complimentary and parking will be validated.
