IBERIABANK Invests $200,000 to Support Six Agencies Affiliated with the Community Reinvestment Alliance of South Florida Jupiter, FL (May 25, 2016) – IBERIABANK, a 129-year-old subsidiary of IBERIABANK Corporation, recently donated $200,000 to support six agencies affiliated with the Community Reinvestment Alliance of South Florida. Six non-profit organizations each received a donation of $33,000 to be used for various programs including financial literacy training, neighborhood revitalization and homeownership advancement for low income individuals. “We hope that our investment will help serve as a catalyst to promote community and economic development in some of South Florida’s most poverty stricken areas,” said Jennifer Brancaccio, market president for IBERIABANK. “By providing money management lessons and safe, clean and affordable housing options, we’re giving individuals and families the opportunity to improve their future.” Donation recipients and fund uses are outlined below. Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida will deploy donated funds to help with the neighborhood revitalization initiative efforts in Liberty City including Brownsville and the 79th Street Corridor, one of Miami-Dade County’s most economically challenged communities. Funds will support organizational infrastructure for mortgage lending to increase affordable housing opportunities. Neighborhood Renaissance, Inc. is using the $33,000 to develop a pipeline of 50 potential home buyers through buyer outreach, home buyer workshops and community forums designed to inform residents of affordable home ownership opportunities. Interested buyers will receive one-on-one home buyer counseling and go through training to prepare them for the responsibilities associated with home ownership. Partners for Self Employment, Inc. will use the IBERIABANK donation to attract additional funds from the Department of Health and Human Services for use in PSE’s Matched Savings Fund Program. The total investment will result in 14 low income families making a first-time home purchase. Rebuilding Together Broward County, Inc. has plans to use the bank’s donation to repair and rehabilitate 50 homes in the Sistrunk residential corridor to ensure that 100 seniors, disabled persons and veterans can live in a healthier residential environment as part of the “Communities of Promise” concept. These upgrades will help to reduce the risk of injuries and failing to improve the safety, personal comfort, security and independence for residents. REVA Development Corporation has earmarked the bank’s donation to assist with the Hotbox Art Residency Program to help with the rehabilitation and preservation of historic structures in the community. This program will infuse a cultural art presence and economic vitality in the historic northwest district of West Palm Beach. South Florida Community Land Trust will use funds to help transform the low income community of Deerfield Beach by assisting with the pre-development and pre-constructions costs for six single family houses that will be available for low to moderate income households including veterans, youth who have aged out of foster care and other special needs groups. Photos Provided by Reva Development showcase the Hotbox Art “Site Attack” in the historic Northwest District of West Palm Beach in the “before” and “after” state. Site Attack is created to serve as an interim condition to remove the presence of blighted in vacant buildings and parcel in the neighborhood. As a single day event, sponsors, volunteers, community stakeholders, and artists ascended on the property to participate in transforming a site recognized as a chronic nuisance into a public art display. Immediately afterwards, to protect the property and accommodate the police department and building official we installed 6’ chain link fencing around the entire site. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUCAmFkGi_E&feature=youtu.be About IBERIABANK Corporation IBERIABANK Corporation is a financial holding company with 298 combined offices, including 199 bank branch offices and three loan production offices in Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Florida, and Georgia, 22 title insurance offices in Arkansas and Louisiana, and mortgage representatives in 65 locations in 10 states.
