JIM MORAN INSTITUTE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SOUTH FLORIDA EXECUTIVE PROGRAMS Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, part of the Florida State University Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship, is accepting applications for its Spring 2025 Small Business Executive Program (SBEP) and Nonprofit Executive Program (NPEP) held in South Florida. Offered at no cost to participants, the programs are funded by The Jim Moran Foundation and Jan Moran and her late husband, automotive pioneer Jim Moran. The deadline is Monday, September 30 and applications can be submitted online at jimmoraninstitute.fsu.edu/programs. “Owners and organization leaders are expected to wear many hats. On top of running the business or nonprofit, these professionals are often tasked with managing sales, marketing, client relations, business development, succession planning, accounting and more,” said Jennifer Kovach, director of the Jim Moran Institute’s South Florida Operations. “Our Executive Programs were created to help these entrepreneurs and executives manage these many roles and learn to run their organizations efficiently and successfully.” The SBEP is designed for CEOs, entrepreneurs, business owners, and presidents of small businesses, while the NPEP is for executive directors, presidents, and CEOs of nonprofit organizations. Graduates emerge with the skills and training needed to turn challenges into strategic advantages, capitalize on business opportunities, and implement best practice management. Since the Executive Programs’ inception in 2013, the South Florida team has guided and graduated 48 classes and nearly 800 leaders representing a variety of industries. The Executive Programs consist of nine sessions, each focusing on a specific aspect of growing and managing a business or nonprofit. Starting in January and running through May, the Spring 2025 sessions are held once every two weeks from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Jim Moran Institute's office in Broward County. “I loved the expertise and candor of the presenters and appreciated that they were all locally based. I learned about board development, HR, risk management, and more, and found this all to be extremely beneficial for my role. My advice for others considering applying, make the commitment. There is an ROI that is long-lasting,” said NPEP graduate Marie Berlin, CEO of Young At Art Museum. Applicants must be the key decision-maker and actively involved in running their organization. Their company or nonprofit must have been established for at least three years and have three or more employees or volunteers. Program graduates receive a certificate of completion and can participate in an ongoing peer roundtable. They are also encouraged to participate in workshops, conferences, and other Jim Moran Institute events. To apply for the Spring 2025 SBEP or NPEP, visit jimmoraninstitute.fsu.edu/programs.
