BOCA RATON, FLORIDA (October 14, 2024) – The 2nd Annual Boca International Jewish Film Festival (BIJFF) is set to captivate audiences with a diverse lineup of films celebrating the richness of Jewish and Israeli culture. The 2025 festival will take place from February 23 to March 16, featuring screenings at Cinemark Palace 20 and Movies of Delray, with additional special events and film discussions. “We are delighted to once again bring the community together through the power of film,” said Wendy Honig, co-founder of the Boca International Jewish Film Festival. “Our goal is to entertain, educate, and inspire, offering a window into the diversity of Jewish life and culture.” Highlights of the 2025 Festival: Pre-Festival Screening: “Orchestra of Exiles” – January 13, 2025 Join Robert Watson the Director Josh Aronson for an exclusive screening of this Academy Award nominated documentary that tells the story of one man’s quest to save Europe’s premier Jewish musicians from the Nazis by forming the Palestine Symphony Orchestra. Cinebash Premiere Screening and Show: “Shari & Lamb Chop” – January 27, 2025, 5 pm (Patron Dinner) and 7:30 pm for film, Wick Theater This touching documentary explores the legacy of beloved puppeteer and television host Shari Lewis through the eyes of her daughter, Mallory Lewis. The screening will be followed by a show and Q&A with Mallory, offering an intimate glimpse into the life of this iconic entertainer. Opening Night Film: “Diane Warren: Relentless” – February 23, 2025 at 7pm, Cinemark Kick off the festival with an inspiring look at the life, career, and creative process of legendary songwriter Diane Warren. Directed by Bess Kargman and featuring appearances by Jerry Bruckheimer and Cher, this intimate portrait celebrates one of the most accomplished songwriters of our time. The opening night will include a red-carpet reception and Q&A session with special guests. Closing Night Film: “Guns & Moses” – March 16, 2025 at 2pm, Movies of Delray In this quirky comedy, a beloved small-town rabbi becomes an unlikely gunslinger after his community is violently attacked. Directed by Salvador Litvak and featuring Neal McDonough, Dermot Mulroney, and Christopher Lloyd, the film’s mix of humor and action brings the festival to an exhilarating close. Additional films, including “The President’s Tailor,” a Cannes award winning series “The Zweiflers” spotlighting a German deli family, and more will be featured.
