PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (November 21, 2024) On Friday, November 1, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County mobilized over 100 volunteers across five job sites in a powerful display of support for our local veterans. Veterans Build 2024, presented by Vertical Bridge, brought together sponsors, community members, veterans, and active service members to repair and revitalize homes for veterans in Jupiter, Riviera Beach, Boynton Beach, and Boca Raton. Veterans Build, an annual initiative that combines fundraising with hands-on community service, showcases Habitat’s commitment to building and maintaining affordable housing for those who have served. After their volunteer shift, participants headed to the American Dream BBQ, held at the Boynton Beach Arts & Cultural Center, where they celebrated the impact of their work and honored the veterans and active service members present. With nearly 76,000 veterans calling Palm Beach County home, Habitat is deeply committed to ensuring they have access to safe, affordable housing. This year’s Veterans Build raised over $239,000, directly supporting the organization’s mission to help veterans achieve or maintain the American dream of homeownership. The event was led by co-chairs Clint Lowe, Director of Engineering Transformation & Footprint Strategy at Carrier and a U.S. Army veteran, and Michael Maglio, Vice President of Industrial Sales at NuStar Building Materials and a U.S. Marine veteran. Both expressed pride in guiding this impactful day and announced their return as co-chairs for Veterans Build 2025, inviting the community to join the Veterans Build 2025 Kick-Off Party on January 30 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
