LEARN ABOUT TEMPLE BETH EL AT “MY HEART IS IN THE EAST” OPEN HOUSE A GEM OF THE SOUTH FLORIDA JEWISH COMMUNITY Boca Raton, FL (July 15, 2019) Temple Beth El of Boca Raton invites the south Florida Jewish community to their “My Heart Is in the East” Open Houses for prospective members on Tuesday, August 27 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm or Wednesday, August 28 from12:00 pm – 1:30 pm. Guests are invited to come schmooze with our clergy, explore the new building, enjoy lite bites and receive a welcome gift for attending. The open houses will be held at the magnificent new Schaefer Family Campus at 333 S.W. 4th Avenue, Boca Raton, FL 33432 and tours of the new building will begin every few minutes in the first half hour. Noting the dynamic resurgence in east Boca Raton and the growth in west Boca Raton, in 2017 the temple embarked on a major construction and renovation project to provide larger, modernized and more meaningful spaces for Jewish learning, worship and community. The result at the Schaefer Family Campus is absolutely breathtaking. As visitors enter the stunning Welcome Center with inspired architecture, soaring ceilings and contemporary design, they will be surrounded by museum-worthy Judaic artwork with messages of Love, Social Justice and Tzedakah, and Community; reflecting the Jewish values that mean the most to our congregation. “Within our walls, in moments of worship, learning and through acts of social justice and community service, we build the spiritual and moral core of our world for today and the future. Our new sacred space will provide our congregation the resources to truly make the spiritual wisdom and traditions of Judaism come alive for our entire community, says Rabbi Dan Levin.” The new renovation includes several additional magnificent spaces for education, culture, life-cycle events and forming relationships within our synagogue community. A new 250 seat chapel is set to be a peaceful oasis highlighted by natural wood surroundings, tall ceilings that reach towards the sky, and six large windows behind the Ark that will illuminate the space with natural light. We will learn together and be inspired in the Beit Midrash (learning center,) shop for Judaica in the contemporary new Sisterhood Gift shop, and meet with clergy and staff in the conveniently located new offices adjacent to the welcome center. “Our hope is that our neighbors and the entire community will join us for either of these very special Open Houses. We want to share our excitement about the amazing changes here at Temple Beth El and personally familiarize everyone with all we have to offer. We’re blessed to live in a diverse community like Boca Raton, and we pride ourselves on relationship building for every age and every background,” says Elinor Josephson, Director of Engagement and Programming.
