Hurricane Dorian, How Cinnaholic Boca is Turning Helplessness into Helpfulness As we watch this potentially catastrophic category 5 storm unfold, we are being bombarded by breaking news reports, social media updates about availability of gas, water, and supplies. Almost everyone in the county has been preparing for days securing their homes and families. Almost all of our staff have evacuated. We sent them off with cases of water and lighters for their candles. And of course plenty of cookies and cinnamon rolls to munch on during the storm. It’s the least we can do for our dedicated co-workers who show up smiling day after day even when they have finals, or a second job, or an invite to do something with friends. But let’s not forget those that put their very lives on the line for our safety, working round the clock even before the storm hits. The emergency response teams of the fire and police departments and related agencies are working hard to make sure that as many people as are able to are safely evacuated from the storm before it arrives sometime tomorrow. These are the firefighters and officers that we see in our store all the time and we really wanted to do something to let them know we are thinking of them today. We want to make sure that this is more than just a cinnamon roll bakery. We want to make a difference in our community and so today, we sent out boxes of cinnamon rolls to six of our local fire stations and local police station. Just saying "thank you" really feels like the right thing to do. Especially as we wait for Dorian to take that anticipated turn north and away from our community. https://www.cinnaholic.com/ 561.617.7277
