Here are a few of the 37 Service Dogs your generous support has helped provide for disabled Veterans in 2019: Irwin, Named in Honor of Our Founder, Irwin Stovroff, WWII POW “Irwin” is a Facility Therapy Dog placed at Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital, where Irwin visits the outpatient center, and also accompanies his handler on daily inpatient rounds including visits to veterans in their Military Resilience Program. This program provides inpatient treatment for active, reserve and National Guard service members living with the effect of injuries from combat action, war deployments and military sexual trauma. “The service members love Irwin”. “You can see it in their faces how much he helps them”. Suicide among our Veterans is increasing. We are losing over 22 Veterans each day to suicide.
