John Duffy and Jerry Fedele join the College of Business and Management As Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Executive-in-Residence, Duffy and Fedele will serve as expert faculty to students pursuing careers in high-demand industries. Boca Raton, Florida, March 4, 2020—Lynn University welcomes John Duffy and Jerry Fedele as guest faculty in the College of Business and Management this spring. As Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Duffy will teach “Venture Scaling Excellence,” an undergraduate course on leveraging innovative ideas for commercial viability and planning for strategic market expansion. As Executive-in-Residence, Fedele will lead healthcare management students in the MBA course “Health Insurance and Ethics.” Graduate students will gain insight into the changing funding models and ethical implications of healthcare. “John Duffy and Jerry Fedele are both uniquely qualified to bring real world experience to benefit our students,” said Dr. RT Good, College of Business and Management dean. “They will bring their firsthand experiences in entrepreneurship and healthcare management to guide and mentor students through these growing fields.” An expert in start-ups and entrepreneurship, Duffy relocated to South Florida from Athens, Ohio after college to work at MCI Telecommunications as an account executive before founding his first start-up, 3Cinteractive. In 2019, global communications software provider IMImobile acquired 3Cinteractive. Duffy serves as a partner for Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P., is a co-founder of Direqt., Inc., and a board member for the Dan Marino Foundation. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in finance from Ohio University. Fedele served as CEO of West Penn Allegheny Health System and the managing director of FTI Healthcare before becoming president and CEO of Boca Raton Regional Hospital. In addition to teaching at Lynn, Fedele will continue to serve as an independent healthcare consultant, interim executive, lawyer and executive adviser for Blue Sea Capital. Fedele received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and a Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law.
